How to pick the right physician
Finding the right doctor in Florida can be difficult for lots of people. If you are having a specific health related
problem, sometimes you are not really 100% sure what kind of specialist might be the right one for your problem.
As a general rule, it's always a good idea to go visit your family doctor first. Not only does he have all
your health history on file, he will also refer you to the right specialist.
Some physicians may already have a list of possible specialists that are close to their own practice. You don't need to pick one of his suggestions though. Although, if you are being sent to a specialist to, for instance, get x-rays or an MRI, and your family doctor is still the doctor in charge who is going to discuss results afterwards, it's a good idea to actually go and visit the recommended specialists because the already existing relationship between your doctor and the specialist might speed things up.
Another thing you need to keep in mind is your health insurance. Not every doctor is working with every network out there. Be sure that the physician you are going to visit has a contract with your insurance to keep your out-of-pocket money at a minimum.
